Letter to Mr. Hamilton Chase, 1257 Western Ave., Topeka, Kansas
From Elizabeth Gafford,  his aunt (Annie Thompson Chase’s sister) in Los Angeles
October 21, 1916

My dear Hamilton,

Grandma appreciated that favor you sent and just as soon as received wanted to write the note of thanks.  You surely will appreciate it for it was a great undertaking for her.  She had a fine day - the nurse was gone, and I was alone with her.  She enjoyed it, as well as I did.  It was a fine day and she was on the balcony most of the time.

She has been so interested in the party and in fact all you and Ethel do.
If the fog lifts will go ...ing to Anaheim with Uncle Joe Saturday.
Love to all,  “Auntie”

Aunt Lizzie Gafford, Julia's daughter
